One cannot speak of the U.K.’s recent “British Invasion” without speaking of the one group that has single-handedly brought back boy bands. The teenage London pop band One Direction has won the hearts of millions of teens around the world, and the results of the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which took place in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, March 23, were proof of just that.
In music, the group won for Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (for “What Makes You Beautiful”) as over 350 million votes were cast for the various categories in music, film, sports, and TV.
Harry Styles, in particular, has won the hearts of American girls and celebrities in general with his alluring accent and Mick Jagger looks. Pop stars like Rihanna and Taylor Swift have revealed their affinity for the 1D member and more are sure to follow as the 19-year-old basks in his early stardom.
The One Direction 2013 World Tour gets under way in the U.K. starting in April and hits American ground starting on June 13 in Sunrise, Florida. Cheap One Direction tickets are going to be hard to find so be sure to get yours while it’s still early.
